RRF has recently
undertaken a project to build 6000 concrete homes for slum dwellers
in Bawana in North Eastern Delhi. These slum dwellers have been
living in make-shift huts and temporary structures where they were
subject to the elements of nature as well as to accidents like fires
which burned down their homes and their belongings. There were several
catastrophic fires in the slums last year. In this project, RRF
will build brick and concrete homes for these slum dwellers. Your
contribution will help with the construction costs of one house.
Each house costs roughly $ 1,500-2,000. A number of houses are currently
under construction. RRF expects to build 300 homes by the end of
this year and a few thousand homes in the next couple of years.
Sponsor a home today and provide the comfort of a safe shelter to
these poor families. Your contribution will be acknowledged with
a marble slab with your name engraved on it. This slab will be put
inside the house you choose to sponsor.
You may chose to sponsor a home in 1 payment
of $ 1,650 or 3 payments of $550 each or monthly payments of $ 140.

Letter from the founder
I am often asked why I decided to set up this charity
foundation. Over the last three years, I had the opportunity to travel
often to India and reflect on what I saw on the streets and hospitals
in the country - malnourished, sick & handicapped children who had
given up hope and underprivileged children on the streets without any
education.
As I reflected more on what I saw and tried to think about my own life,
I realized that even though I had built a so called "successful business"
it did not guarantee happiness to me irrespective of who I was or how
much I had. I thought I had built security, I thought I had built success.
But in reality what I had built was an illusion. I realized that no one
ever really has security or success unless it comes from within one's
own self. That was when I promised myself that the next thing I built;
no one would be able to take away the associated Guaranteed Happiness
from me. I decided that I wanted to be in the business of imparting and
spreading happiness. And the Foundation was born!
I realized that giving is something that no one can take away from you.
The rewards of giving go far beyond money and material things. Giving
is something you will be able to take with you wherever you go for the
rest of your life.
The foundation has been setup to raise funds for charity work to be carried
out to empower children who need help. The foundation's focus is to make
a difference in the lives of children - who are handicapped, blind, mentally
challenged, sick or in need of urgent medical help and underprivileged
kids who needed education. Each and every bit of money collected will
be spent on these children.
For me, one of the hardest things is to see parents of sick children who
have been unsuccessful to secure the medical help their child needs, for
want of money. As a parent, I can feel the pain associated with such helplessness.
This troubles me greatly. We are in the process of identifying sick and
disabled children in the Delhi and Noida regions of India, who need urgent
help. We can make a difference in the lives of such people & impart
happiness to their families.
Through the outreach programme, we will make sure we are in touch with
disabled children in their villages. These children do not go to school,
so we will arrange to bring teachers or tutors to their villages to give
them at least some basic education and skills.
We intend to help children who have been rejected by society and help
them grow into confident, educated adolescents and young adults. Many
children who are presently destined to a lifetime of crawling in the dust
could get much needed surgery and physiotherapy and could now be up on
their feet. This benefits not only their prospects in life but also their
self-esteem.
We intend to bring hope to children at high risk of becoming street children.
How? By offering street school to children with no other access to education.
And by offering parents, the chance to learn a profession which will help
them to escape exploitative labor, so that they can look after their children
properly. It is infinitely satisfying to rescue a street child and give
them a home, a hope and a future. But perhaps more rewarding still is
to prevent a child from being made homeless through circumstances.
Children are amazingly kindhearted, unselfish, innocent, intelligent,
friendly and interesting youth. You cannot help but to love and admire
them. To get the ball rolling, I have personally contributed in excess
of $1,000,000 to the foundation towards this cause. Please donate
howsoever much you can to the Foundation for the sake of these kids. Make
giving a priority in your life. The rewards are immeasurable.
On behalf of these kids and their parents, thank you in advance for your
generous support.
Sincerely,
Robin Raina
