Robin Raina Foundation Donates Rupees 1.5 million to Imran Khan’s Shaukat Khannum Cancer Hospital in Lahore

ATLANTA----October 31, 2005 - Robin Raina Foundation (RRF) today announced that it has donated Pakistan Rs. 1.5 million towards sponsoring a room in Imran Khan’s Shaukat Khannum hospital, for the cancer treatment of three under-privileged children on an ongoing basis. As a mark of appreciation for this donation, Shaukat Khannum will now have a room dedicated to poor children, whose treatment will be sponsored by RRF.

The decision to donate the money was made during RRF Founder Robin Raina’s visit to the hospital in Lahore, in July 2005. Mr. Fawad Ahmed of Gwinett Suzuki, Atlanta accompanied Robin in this visit. RRF Spokesperson Sanjay Supehia announced that the donation money was sent to Shaukat Khannum Hospital a few days back.

Shaukat Khannum Founder Imran Khan said: “I wish to express my sincerest gratitude to you for your generous donation for the treatment of poor cancer patients at Shaukat Khannum Cancer Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan. I wish all success to Robin Raina Foundation in its mission to empower children who need help across the world”

Announcing the donation, Robin Raina said: “My visit to Pakistan reinforced my belief that poverty knows no boundaries of color, race or religion. Poor people in every part of the world need help and Pakistan is no exception to that fact. Imran Khan’s stupendous effort towards providing cancer treatment to the needy through a world-class hospital like Shaukat Khannum is an example that needs to be emulated by all around the world.”

Robin added: “This small but sincere donation comes from the heart and is an attempt to support the efforts started by Shaukat Khannum as also to appeal to others in the United States, to donate money towards the cause.”

RRF also announced that its quarterly magazine Lifeline contains an exclusive interview with Imran Khan and focuses on Shaukat Khannum as a cover story, in its October 2005 issue.

RRF also issued an appeal to all its donors to donate money towards Shaukat Khannum Hospital, by sending their donation check in favor of “Robin Raina Foundation – Shaukat Khannum aid”
