RRF LAUNCHES EMERGENCY RELIEF EFFORTS AFTER ANOTHER FIRE CAUSES TWO DEATHS AND DESTROYS 421 SLUM DWELLER HOMES
 

April 25, 2007: Robin Raina Foundation (RRF) announced today that it is continuing emergency relief efforts since April 16th after yet another fire in the slums of Bawana, India on April 16th afternoon destroyed 421 slum dweller homes and caused the death of two under-privileged people.

RRF reported that this is the fifth fire in the last six months in the area. RRF also reported that all the 421 families lost everything they owned. Besides that loss, the heat of the blazing sun was another torture faced by these people.

 
 
 
As the only charity that has set its base in the slums of Bawana and is trusted by the people there, Raina Prayas took the lead and launched immediate relief efforts. Starting with calling upon the Fire Brigade team, the Raina Prayas volunteers played a stellar role in the relief efforts. The RRF volunteers jumped into the fire to save the lives of people, organized immediate medical relief camp followed by distribution of necessary items among to the fire affected people like—Tents, Buckets, Mugs, Ration Material, Utensils, Dress material, shoes, etc.
 
   
 
RRF provided meals for a few days in addition to providing shelter to 421 families in the form of blue tents specially erected to save people from the fire. RRF also took special care of the impacted parents and families of the twelve children who are studying at Raina Prayas by providing rations for one month, clothes, shelter etc.
 
 
 

RRF Spokesperson Sanjay Supehia issued an appeal to all the people of United States to donate generously to the relief efforts.
