Robin Raina Foundation Financially Adopts 16 Visually Blind children, taking its count of Blind children adopted in Delhi to thirty three (33) children

ATLANTA----August 16, 2005 - Robin Raina Foundation (RRF) today announced that it has financially adopted a new batch of 16 under-privileged blind children in Delhi, in terms of funding the cost of their graduation studies, hostel and food needs. With this adoption, RRF has increased its count of blind children adopted in Delhi to thirty three (33).

As a part of RRF’s Blind Aid project, RRF will pay a sum of $ 9,400 per year towards supporting the tuition fees, hostel fees and food needs of these 33 children. This financial adoption package involving a commitment of $47,000 over the next five years, will allow these needy children to pursue higher studies. This money will help these blind children complete their graduation studies in eminent Delhi schools like St. Stephens College, Kirori Mal College, and Sriram College etc. and then pursue their dreams of higher studies.
RRF also announced that the previous batch of 17 blind children adopted in 2004 have successfully passed their first year of graduation studies. The previous batch of 17 children was congratulated on their achievements by the RRF Founder Robin Raina, in a special meeting organized in Delhi, towards that purpose.
Announcing the above, Robin Raina said: ’How rightly it has been said that there are none as blind as those who refuse to see! Blessed with healthy bodies possessed of five senses, the majority of us go through life completely handicapped in the matter of feeling for and understanding the needs of the underprivileged and visually impaired.”
Robin added: “Recently I was in India on one of customary trips to meet our children and had the pleasure of spending a few days with these children. The time spent with them made me realize that that these children in spite of no eyesight can see life a lot clearly than most of us can. Most of us who seem to have a so called 20/20 vision are probably blinder than any of these children. We can see and yet not see.”

RRF also issued an appeal to all potential donors to contribute to the cause of educating poor blind children. Anybody wanting to contribute to RRF’s Blind-Ad project can do so, by sending a check, made payable to "Robin Raina Foundation – Blind Aid Project".
